The Maco Railroad Light Summary

Improved Essays
The name of my article is “The Maco Railroad Light.” This story was written by Troy Taylor. This article was published in 1998. Taylor writes mostly about history, hauntings, and the unexplained. He is the founder and president of the “American Ghost Society.” I believe the intended audience is people who love the unexplained. My article is about the Mako Light. It is an unexplainable light that appears near a railroad station. The light is supposed to come from a lantern that Joe Baldwin was holding when he died. Joe Baldwin was a railroad conductor for the Atlantic line. One night the train was moving along, Joe realized that his car was slowing down. He then realized his car had been disconnected. There was a train right behind his car

The law enforcement agency began chasing Timothy Russell, and his passenger Melissa Williams who probably was terrified and, couldn’t possibly understand what they had done wrong to be being chased by these officers. The officers thought they had heard a gunshot come from the car of Timothy Russell as he passed by the court house building. The officers also had witnesses that also felt they heard a gunshot come from the car of timothy Russell as he drove by the court house building, but it was his car back firing.…

The movie City Lights was not officially a silent film because it had the sound effects, but if it just went with being a talkie it would have been completely different and in my opinion not for the better. Back then they had the option of choosing whether or not to be a color film or a black and white film. But they still decided to go with what they did for a reason. The comedy in the movie would not have been the type of comedy if it had been a talkie. Plus talkies are not the type of movies that Chaplin are accustom to.…

Speeding tickets are citations that are written and delivered by police officers in the event that a motor vehicle operator violates the traffic laws in a particular area. These items are the main topic in the satirical essay “An Unassertive Proposal”. The author provides much evidence to reveal this hidden subject. The first evidence that reveals that the essay is a bout speeding tickets is the references that are given to policemen. Flashing lights being seen in a person’s review mirror is an indication that he or she has been pulled over by the police.…

Ghost Light is a play written and performed by Shawn Wright and directed by Thomas Morgan Jones. I attended the performance at Theater New Brunswick’s Open Space theater in Fredericton, New Brunswick on Friday November 25th 2016. The one-man show told the story of a boy native from Saint John, New Brunswick. That boy was in fact the actor himself, you were transported in his world through a heartfelt and authentic performance. The play as inspirational as it could be told the audience that it is important to be true to yourself.…

Is getting to your destination on time worth the carelessness of driving fast and running red lights and taking lives? Each year many die from careless commuters rushing to get to a destination on time and decide to run a red light. However, this number can be reduced drastically, which could be done if the red light violators were enforced. Unfortunately, there are not enough police to enforce this. Red light cameras should be used to ticket American drivers.…

If you've been on Twitter, Facebook, any number of clickbait websites, you've probably noticed that the new Ghostbusters trailer has been posted. I have been pretty indifferent to the whole thing ever since the original cast has pretty much had nothing to do with it. The big thing that will slap everyone that has a criticism about the film is that the new cast is female. That has nothing to do with a movie being good or not. Sure, there are probably those Men's Rights douche bags that will complain that it should be an all male cast, but the thing about that is no one cares about what those people have to say.…

Sonny’s Blues Light and Darkness motifs One of the most revered of James Baldwin’s stories is Sonny’s Blues; wildly debated for its variety of topics the short story embodies. Racial discrimination, emotional respite through music (Jazz), Harlem’s quandary and Light and Dark imagery are some of the various topics he conveys in this story. James Baldwin contrasts light and dark motifs to denote the narrator’s feelings about different situations he faced in his life. The narrator employs light and dark symbolism to elucidate on the painfulness of reality and the vigor gotten through it; while darkness represents negative aspects of society, light epitomizes a way to survive and a means to save Sonny’s positivity and possible future to anticipate.…
