It should be our goal to get adequate treatment starting with early prevention. It could start with children being exposed to violence within the family. Parents of those children situations won’t always be the first to step up since most refuse to see the violence or care or themselves afraid of the violence. The school system should be better trained when it comes to watching for certain behaviors in young adults and get them proper counseling, that should also be easily available. I think we all realize that substance abuse is a huge factor in violence, but what we don’t know is how unattainable care if for people who need to recover and are trying to recover. Some don’t even recognize the problem on their own if they do they don’t know the options existing to be taken advantage of.
