The Lucky Life On the path to pursuing dreams, people can overcome the difficulties and improve themselves contently with their efforts and support from other people; moreover, there is another interesting thing that can play an important role in their lives, perhaps it can help people avoid troubles and change their life. That is luck. The book, The Pact, which is a true story, based on the journey of becoming doctors of three people; George Jenkins, Sampson Davis and Rameck Hunt are three young African Americans, who have terrible childhood and spend much time in the projects with a lot of danger. Destiny ties people together. From his childhood to adulthood, Rameck is so lucky that he meets some people who play a role in him. One example of positive people is his counselor, Carla Dickson, who encourages Rameck during the hard time of struggle in the academic journey. She understands Rameck and tries her best to help him to resolve every problem which he faces. She figures out his advantages and weakness in different aspects of his life such as academic, financial and environmental, and she helps him to overcome these obstacles. With her help, Rameck gets closer to becoming a doctor. Rameck meets George and Sam is another example which shows that he is lucky enough. As they have same background and can commentary with each other, they become to the best friends. They go to Seton Hall together and support each other all the time. He is lucky because when he has insensible choice which is become to a rapper, George pulls Rameck back from his immature idea to the right way; making him recognize that there is a difference between his hobby and his true dream. He is lucky because when he study at medical program with Sam, they live together and can influence each other in a positive way. Based on these examples, Rameck gets support from people who are around him, he is closer to his dream with their
