Hard Measures And The Lucifer Effect

Everyone has there own opinion on different things based on their own life experiences. We each view things differently as far as what we think is right or wrong, and some people may or may not agree. For me, the book Hard Measures shows us the things people will do in order to get what they want. In The Lucifer Effect I believe this book shows us what we will do when we are given power and privilege, it also helps us get a better understanding of why people do what they do. These two books as you would think do in way go hand in hand. Although I may not think that what Jose did in Hard Measures, I do know that some people believe that what he did was bad and wrong. The Lucifer Effect I believe helps me get a better understanding of how people can do bad things, because to me it takes a lot for me to even lie and to me that’s like super bad, so I cant imagine how it feels to torture someone else, and be to the point where you are smiling over them like you did something good. In the news and on social media today we mostly see things about police officers and there use on violence to the point where they have shoot innocent people. I do understand that police have authority over people but I just don’t know how they can resort to shooting people who aren’t even armed or being so brutal to people. I know that I may not know the whole story and there is always more then what meets the eye, but of what I do see, I just don’t understand how they can be that mean. To me there should better ways to deal with situations rather then brutality. Then the wonder why people choose not to listen to police, because after they know that whether they do what there suppose to or not it could end up bad. I’m not saying all police are bad, but I just don’t know what would make them turn so bad that they have to shoot innocent people or be so aggressive. Torture to me is different, but it’s not that different from what some police officers are doing to people now. Especially because the police situation is right here next to us so we see it all whether we choose to or not, because its everywhere, and as far as soldiers, CIA, or FBI using torturing tactics, most of the time we don’t see it because it is over seas and no one talks about it so it could be happening right now and we would never know it, and when we do find out we are so surprised because we never thought that people
