Educational Goals And Philosophy Statement Report

Education is a profession that incorporates many other professions because teachers take on roles other than just educators. Teachers take on the following roles in the classroom: an advocate, a cheerleader, a bailiff, a counselor, a coach, a parent, a detective, an emergency specialist, nurse, and the list goes on. (Jones 2010). Education does not only serve to teach, it serves to develop, create, and inspire students to reach their greatest potential. As a future educator, my primary objectives are not only to enlighten students on the required academic curriculum, but provide them with exceptional companionship as they embark on their individual journeys of learning. (Henry, Brainy quote, 2016). As a future teacher, I plan to use this privilege to imprint the love of learning on the hearts of my students. It is essential that an educator views the students as individuals before they attempt to reach their hearts. Students are indeed students, but they are humans first. Humans have dreams, fears, and personalities. It is in an educator’s best interest to humanize the students rather than just view them as insentient beings because this will educate the teachers on how to instruct the students properly. By using this method of humanizing, it shows the students that this is more than just a job, this is a companionship formed on the basis of learning. Humanizing will be the foundation of my teaching.
As a fresh face in the field of education, I have a lot of experience to gain regarding behavior management in a classroom, lesson planning, and exam proctoring, but this is what teaching is all about. Teachers never stops learning; thus they can never stop teaching. The more I learn, the more I can teach. The more I teach, the more my students will learn and then the more they can teach. The field of education never sleeps. I am willing to have sleepless nights if that means learning more so that I can teach

As a student, I have gone through many teachers, all with lasting impacts, arguably, not all good. Although I cannot say I have looked through the looking glass of the teaching side, or walked a mile in any of my professor’s shoes; I’ve noted there is an importance to teachers who not only develop characters on a page, but the characters of their students. You, Mr. Smith, have dedicated your life to teaching students, enabling their comprehension. As Aristotle says, ‘Those who know, do. Those who understand, teach.’…

I agree with Hooks that teachers are never done learning, that it is their job to be able to continuously evolve and be able to teach their students. This learning the teachers require comes from the students in their class as well. “I journey with the students as they progress in their lives beyond our classroom experience. In many ways, I continue to teach them, even as they become more capable of teaching me” (Hooks 205). I felt that this quote helped demonstrate the connection that the student and the teacher should have.…

“A teacher takes a hand, opens a mind, touches the heart, and shapes the future.” School for kids means eight hours wasted; meanwhile, for teachers it means teaching the next generation. Even though kids may think the teachers just want to give them homework or make them work hard so students can have no life, it 's quite the opposite. Teachers teach so that they can see their students succeed in life. They want to know that their students got the best education they could get and that they are able to be what they want to be in life.…

Every day I’m surrounded by others who share the same passion as I do. We all want to become educators. We want to spend our days with little ones expanding their minds and setting up a strong educational foundation for the rest of their lives. Although we all share this same desire, there are major differences in the way we view teaching and how we will teach our future students. Even if we weren’t aware of it, these differences began the moment we were born, and have continued to change throughout our lives.…

I am applying to Temple University three years after dropping out of college. The past few years have been a valuable learning experience and I don’t necessarily regret putting my schooling on hold, but time away from the institution of higher learning has profoundly deepened my appreciation for what a college degree is truly worth and the potential it can unlock. In this day and age, receiving an adequate education isn’t just a fortuity gifted, rather virtually a necessity for anyone who aspires to improve their station in life and visions to leave an indelible mark on society. I look to do both, which is why I am seeking admission to Temple. I left college because, quite candidly, I didn’t want to be there, nor was I especially ready.…

Journalist, satirist and cultural critic H.L. Mencken once said, "The aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence, and so make them fit to discharge the duties of citizenship in an enlightened and independent manner". However, in retrospect, my time within the Australian public education system has shown me that in Australia, this is not the case. Being a part of this system for the past thirteen years of my life, I have come to realise that our education system, powered by teachers who have the potential to inspire and innovate, have caged their students in cells haunted by repetition. We memorise facts to pass a test and forget about them later. We are trained to conform to the…

Becoming an educator is one the noblest professions an individual can go into. A teacher can have a powerful impact in a student’s live, both positive and negative. Teaching is one of the few careers that directly affect the future of our nation, and though this may be considered a cliché, the truth of the matter is that you may have a larger impact on children’s lives than some of their parents. You spend hours upon hours with your students, whereas busy or career-driven parents may not have the same opportunities. Becoming an educator is conducive to your home or family life, allows you to see the potential in students, and perhaps most notably, provides the opportunity for you to essentially mold lives within one short calendar year.…

“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning”. (Brad Henry) Not every person can be a teacher; it takes a certain kind of individual to be a teacher. Some qualities that teachers consume are patient, kindness, passionate, knowledge, and heart, also there are other many formal qualities that a teacher must need to be successful. At twelve years old in seventh grade I had this teacher that inspired me to become a teacher and ever since then, becoming a teacher has been a priority.…
