The Lottery, The Goldfish: Character Analysis

In life there’s always going to be moments where everything can change; either for the better or for the worse. Those changes might be in result of a decision you or someone made. In the case of the characters in The Lottery, The Goldfish, and our personal experience; we all went through difficult obstacles that led us to make difficult choices that changed our fate and the lives of others for the better or for the worse.Those moments in life are the ones that drift us into different roads.

Tessie Hutchinson was just a careless townswoman from a small town. In the day of the lottery, her life was at a verge of a dramatic change. That day, her husband had drawn the paper with the black dot. Realizing that her husband wasn’t given enough time to choose a piece of paper, she chose to tell Mr. Summers in order to redraw the names again. What Mr. Summers decided on was to draw only the Hutchinson’s names. This change in events caused for Tessie’s life to be at stake. When fate finally took control, Tessie opened her paper, and saw she had the

It all started in Mexico when a person saw someone under a tree. It was my uncle who was unconscious on the ground. As he noticed that my uncle wasn’t responding, the person that found him called a hospital. When the paramedics arrived, they told the man that there wasn’t anything they could do for my uncle. The hospital then informed his family members about the saddening news. My grandma then called my mom, and my mom immediately decided to go to Mexico with my grandparents and her sister to say goodbye to her brother for the last time and to help family members overcome this difficult situation. My mom later that day, boarded a plane to Mexico. In less than a day, my mom arrived to the funeral and comforted her family through this difficult
