In 1565, the Spanish established the first successful settlement in the new world. Later in 1587, 120 Englishmen attempted to settle in the new world. They sailed to Roanoke the Island off the coast of North Carolina. Quickly they ran low on supply's, so Governor John white went for help from England. After many setbacks John white returned and the whole colony was completely gone. On a tree was scribbled a clue of where the colonist could be. The name of an island was on the tree. Now even today no one knows what exactly happened to the people which is now called the lost colony.
