Objective Summary In the article “The Lost Boys of Sudan” the author describes the transition of Sudanese men to American culture. In the text, the speaker describes a 1,000 mile walk across Sudan to Ethiopia, stating “nearly half made it the whole way”. We find out that the SPLA (Sudanese People’s Liberation Army) recruits young boys. This and the fact that civilians are already dying shows how innocent people can be affected in times of civil unrest.
