Perseverance means to never give up, and these stories show it. “The Lost Boys” and “Mother to Son”, show that giving up is not the way to go, it shows that life is hard but you have to stand up and keep going. Everyone has to have perseverance to get where they want to be. “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

“ The Lost Boys”, are boys from Sudan who fled their homes due to war where they lived. There were over 20,000 boy in the journey from Sudan to Ethiopia back to Sudan and than to Kenya. They crossed River and some got eaten by crocodile some eaten by lion and some starved or even gave up. Those who keep going and knew the struggle that they had to go through and the terrible things they saw. They

She climbed and climbed until she saw the light and might fall but she will still keep climbing. You have to work for what you want. She told her son that she is still climbing and just because you climbed high does not mean you should stop. You have to do the impossible like climbing mount everest to get where you want to be. When you want to do something you have to do it for yourself and stand up for yourself.

A cartoon illustration, when we think of a cartoon illustration is all cartoonish and fun looking pictures, but artist use art to express what they’re feeling without words. So perseverance can be express through a picture. If someone tried something new they’re probably not going to get it the first time and it will take a few time before they get it right, it’s up to them to keep going and keep trying even if they fail.

Perseverance is something that everyone has in them, some people when they try and don’t succeed give up, don’t try. These people in the cartoon illustration, “Mother to Son”, and “The Lost Boys” show perseverance they didn’t give up and even if life was hard on them they keep going.
