Introduction Does the Lord approve legal divorce? This is a very highly controversial topic that many people in our society debate. According to dictionary.com, divorce is a judicial declaration dissolving a marriage in whole or in part, especially one that releases the marriage partners from all matrimonial obligations. A divorce is officially cutting ties with someone that you once vowed to be with forever. Harkin earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Iowa State University and his J.D. (Juris Doctor also known as a law degree) from Catholic University of America. Although when Harkin used this quote he was using it talking about the president and the many mistakes a President makes. This quote correlates to the topic of divorce, as some people see it. You always hear oh, they just made a mistake it is okay, they are human, and that is exactly how it should be. People make mistakes and are human, and divorce is a mistake that humans make, and we need to be okay with it and support them through it. We all make mistakes, we live in a sinful world, because of the fall of man in Genesis chapter 3. In Chapter 3 verse 6 it says, “When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate.” This mistake lead to the fall of man, and the sin filled universe we live in now. Adam and Eve made a mistake, because they were humans. So when a married couple decides that they just cannot make it work anymore, we should be okay with it, because it is a mistake. No human on this earth can say that they have never made a mistake, because then they would be perfect, and no one is expect Jesus.
