The Lord Of The Flies: Theme Analysis

The theme of wanting to gratify one's instant desires is found in The Lord of the Flies. The theme is not just a fictional situation, so we cannot ignore the issue. People are constantly breaking rules in order to benefit their lives, which can hurt others. In the very beginning of The Lord of the Files, Ralph and the other children realize that there aren’t any adults on the island. The lack of authority causes the kids to be extremely happy because they realize that the rules will not be enforced. As a result, the island becomes a game. The belief that the island is a game justifies their inhumane actions, such as acting out the pig hunt by using a littlun. Sometimes people are able to consciously perform harmful actions, but it is alarming because most of the time people unconsciously perform these destructive acts. For example, during any sports event, there are usually fans from both teams attending a game.
