I have had a lot of life altering experiences that have made me come to the decision of going deeper with God. Determining which one to write about has proven to be more difficult than I realized. But here goes. The saying the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away has always been on my mind though season after season in my life starting when I was 16 with the birth of my first child Brittany Nicole she was born with potters syndrome and with my family around she died 2 days later in my arms. I was so young myself but still had that nurturing side of me I couldn’t replace with nothing else, then also a piece of me died with her. I knew she went to heaven but missed her greatly. I had 2 more children after her before I was 20 but being that …show more content…
Well I said to myself I’m not losing another child this one is mine and I loved him with all my heart. When he was just 4 months old in 2001 I met Tracy a very good man and great daddy but had a little history that hindered being able to find work so we decided to leave Texas and come to Colorado . Ended up going to a shelter in 2002 but while we were there got caught up with some bad people, Tracy got on some drugs and cps took Jude away at 3.I fought to get him back in Colorado well in the meantime I got pregnant with Zane and cps wanted to get involved so my attorney suggested that Tracy and I go back to Texas and let my mom and dad get him than I could get him back. But I would have to give up my rights as a parent but no problem grandparents have first chance .I did that and as hard as it was to leave him, I was assured I would get my son back in just a few months .I cried my eyes out but reluctantly left got the papers to give up my rights and signed, Well they lied to me, when you’re in different states somebody else can adopt and they did I have never seen him …show more content…

It says in the book of acts that "and they said, believe on the lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, And thy house" (act 16:31, KJV). Looking back on my passed five years of knowing Jesus I would describe it as a rollercoaster ride. Back in sixith grade I was going through a transition from Crosswalk to Hang time, Elementary School to middle school, and ultimately finding who I was and knowing Jesus. It was my 2011 Hangtime Winter Whiteout when I accepted Jesus into my life. Every year we do this thing called " Cry Night " that Winter Whiteout in particular we watched clips from "The Passion of Christ " and it was to the song " How He Loves " by David Crowder.…

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

At my most vulnerable, I was having to fill the role of teacher and leader, teaching people how to walk with others through a difficult situation. I learned how important it is to be authentic. I had to let them be part of the grieving and healing process, showing weakness, strength, and reliance on God. My prayer is that God used this journey as an example for others, that they would see our source of strength and hope, that life could again be filled with joy, and most importantly that they would see Jesus through…

“Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat.” George W. Bush stated this about the cowardly September 11th attacks. During that fateful day I was glued to my poorly constructed high school chair, gazing in disbelief what was unfolding on Mr. Cox’s History class television.…

I find myself fascinated listening to this man. I sit here amongst a crowd of hundreds of men, women, and children. We are all amazed at the knowledge that he speaks. The man changes his tone and compares himself the bread that fell from heaven and the water that came from the rock. The rabbi next to me is angrily talking to me as if I did something wrong.…

“One of the secrets of life is making stepping stones out of stumbling blocks.” –Jack Penn As my thoughts raced and mocked every ounce of confidence that I could have possibly possessed, I impatiently prepared for what was about to come. I came from a shy and insecure mindset, but being chosen for the soloist position in a new style of worship would change everything for me.…

GOD’s talking To Me There have been several events in my life that have shaped me into who and what I am today. However the one event that has influenced me the most to pursue attending a Christian University occurred 13 years ago. My wife Charlie was pregnant with our first child. Well it happened my wife went into labor and had our first daughter Joey on October 18, 2001.…

To understand how I envision my place at God’s table, it is best to start at the beginning. I am the oldest of four sisters and grew up in a working-class neighborhood in the Bay Area of California in a mixed-race family. My mother is Caucasian and my father is Mexican. One of dad’s side, my great-grandmother and great-grandfather immigrated to the United States from Durango, Mexico in the 1930s, settling in the Salinas Valley of California. Both great-grandparents worked as migrant farmers to support their family.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head. The feelings of excitement, joy, and love were very tangible in my heart. My mom and dad were both sitting beside me on my bed while I was told the importance of this decision and how my life would never be the same. The Holy Spirit is the most active and prevalent person of the Godhead in our daily lives (Smith, Importance). As believers, understanding the work of the Holy Spirit is important. “A Christian is one who has received Jesus Christ; a Christian is one who displays Christ living through his life, and this is accomplished by the work of the indwelling Holy Spirit” (Ryrie 9). As Christians, we can know the Spirit’s presence by witnessing it in our own lives (Swindoll 258). In my life, His presence can be characteristics to His roles as helper, guide, sanctifier, and comforter; He also blesses me with spiritual gifts to fulfill God’s purpose and to mature me while I am spending my time at Grace University.…
