One of the consequences is the loss of habitats. Since those trees were homes to most of the animals, cutting down the trees left them homeless. Since the animals didn’t have anywhere to live, they migrated. After all the animals migrated, the biodiversity in the ecosystem went down. Cutting all of the trees down, left the ground bare, which could increase the chances of erosion. The trees also made the air clean and created oxygen out of the carbon dioxide. So, without the trees the air became dirty and made it harder to breath. On top of cutting the trees down, I polluted the water with waste from my factory. This point-source pollution made the fish leave as well. I created a machine to help clear-cut the trees so I can keep up with the demand for the thneeds. Although the machine worked, it made the air worsen because of the smoke it blew out.
There are some ways that I could have used to prevent the consequences without hurting the economy. One of them is the selective system. Instead of clear-cutting, I could have picked only a couple of trees to cut down. I also could have planted a new truffula tree every time I cut one down. Planting a new tree every time I cut one down would have conserved the trees and the animals’
