The theme of this poem is, not everyone thinks that something is perfect or has the same opinions. Seuss gives great examples of sensory details. Furthermore, these details emphasize the surroundings in the poem. Dr.Seuss gave us a couple of examples in this quote,“This is it! These truffula trees. All my life I've searched for trees, such trees as these. The touch of their tufts is softer than silk. And they have the sweet smell of butterfly milk” (Seuss 34-37). Moreover, this shows touch and smell by saying the tree felt like silk and smelled like butterfly milk. Dr. seuss goes on to say, “Hey there, Barbaloot! You look so cute in your Barbaloot suit. Your fur's so soft” (Seuss 29-32). Touch is being used again when he said the fur was so soft. As well as, touch and smell he also uses sight. Equally important Dr. Suess wrote, “Swami-Swans, you fly so high. Everywhere I look, you fill the sky” (Seuss 20-21). Overall, He is looking at the birds all over the sky ,which, is sight of the 5 senses. All in all, because of Dr. Seuss sensory details, the readers are able to picture what he is talking about as they are reading the story.
