The Lorax: An Argument Of Pollution

Decent Essays
Tera, I could not agree with you more. In order to address a problem, we must first recognize that there is a problem. In this case it seems like the Chinese government just wants to turn a blind eye to the poor air quality. In my opinion it is because this problem has spiraled so far out of control that they know it will take a lot of money, man power, and research to correct the problem. Your suggestions on how to address the problem, I think are all excellent ideas and feasible. Clean energy research and sources, along with more restrictive emissions tests would greatly reduce the amount of pollution.

Mary, I read this article. First, this was an interesting read. I could not help myself to picture the children’s movie “The Lorax”.

Anyone who hasn’t been living under a rock for the past thirty years (on that note, even ten years) acknowledges that the world has changed radically. From the rise and further advancement of computers, to the increasing prevalence of bioengineering, and even something as simple as how people discuss things all demonstrate that this is a radically different world from my parents, my grandparents and my great grandparents. With these innovations, problems both contemporary and archaic have reared their ugly heads; one of the greatest of these issues is bullying. This endearing issue, something in which we all have encountered by some means, and by some form, plays a massive role in our world today. Although it seems like this issue is something with no solution, many resources that have been acquired (from our innovations to the literature that has been created by great minds) prove that there are ideas about how to make this issue cease to exist.…

The more solar panels the companies have the less pollution there will be. The cameras will also stop pollution because they can detect gas. This will allow the workers to collect more gas and help not pollute the earth. “Some solutions do not require advanced technology. My thoughts on this issue came from internet and my own beliefs. Because government shouldn’t have total control over your life. Also it’s not affecting anyone else if they’re doing it for their own good. Also the government shouldn 't say it shouldn 't be allowed because that could be government supporting christianity and their beliefs about suicides. I rank myself as a liberal on this topic, because most democrats think we should have the euthanasia procedure.…

However, solar energy produces less than one-tenth of one percent of global energy demand. Congress needs to prevent states from allowing a ban on solar leasing. Air pollution travels more easily than water and solid waste pollution, meaning the policies on air pollution need to be uniform throughout the nation. Scientists continue to find evidence to the world’s decimation from human’s carbon footprints due to coal and gas energy. If the United States continues its current energy policies, humans will not die from the sun’s explosion in five billion years: we will perish far earlier from lack of clean…

In the article “Our Crime Against the Planet and Ourselves,” Adrian Parr states that environmental degradation is a crime against humanity while she was interviewed by Natasha Lennard. She talks about how humans are destroying living things by polluting waterways, causing deforestation and loss of habitat and the expanding deserts, which causes many problems for future generations and depriving them of the environmental benefits that our generations had. Parr points out that there are many ways to deal with the problem of environmental degradation one being with the help of the government that can put in place regulations that slow down the effect of pollution and other harmful things on the environment, but lately the government responds…

3.5 to 7 billion trees get chopped down each year. Humans have been destroying the environment for years, only now we are finally coming to the consequences of our actions. The only way to protect the environment is for people to take responsibility for their own lifestyle. The Lorax is a playful, enthusiastic movie that helps show the importance of keeping the environment healthy. The movie, The Lorax, depicts global and ethical citizenship because it had symbolism that can help the audience get more involved in trying to find out what it means, the plot was directed more towards helping the land around them than the plot in Hoot, and the theme effectively showed that in order to save the environment you need people who care about it.…

The subject of climate change has been hotly debated over the past decade. It is now obvious that the climate is changing and that it is more than likely going to cause problems in the future. The amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere has considerably increased since the Industrial Revolution. As fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and crude oil are burned, carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere where it is trapped. This is called the greenhouse effect and although essential to the survival of all life on Earth, this process has gotten out of hand recently.…
