The Longboard: A Short Story

Improved Essays
We didn't really know how to ride the Longboard, it looked so easy when she rode it. I was kind of nervous to ride it first so Ava decided to ride it first. She got on with her hands hovering the Longboard and her feet spread apart from each other. Just as she was moving slowly she was actually riding it. I guess this could be pretty easy after all. “ Do you want to try now? ” Jordyn asked. Suddenly I got on the Longboard feeling nervous. Thoughts ran through me head. Am I really going to do this? Ava decided to showed me how she got on and so did Jordyn. It looked like she just glided to the motion that the Longboard did, so I should make it do that as well. I wanted to look like I could do better than her so I went farther than she …show more content…
Jordyn and Ava were out of sight I could barely see them because of the hill. Just as I was picking up speed I saw a rock that the Longboard was going to hit. I started to panick, I closed my eyes shut praying that I would be safe. I knew I was going to crash. My face slammed against the hard concrete rubbing my skin knowing I was going to bleed. I got up in pain, I felt the burn in my skin. It was coming from my forehead and the middle of my face. My sister ran towards me, “ I’m bleeding!” I said touching my face. I started to run to my house nearly going to cry. I knew I wouldn't be able to play at my friends house again because of this. We always leave the door unlocked so I ran inside looking for my mom. “ Mom I’m bleeding!” I yelled. She immediately got up confused. I ran to the bathroom looking at my face crying buckets of tears. I was speechless I didn't know what to say, I started to talk first because I knew that she would be mad. My mom ran to the kitchen looking for a wet rag to wipe my face. After I stopped bleeding my dad came home. “ What happened? ” he questioned. “ She crashed on Jordyn’s Longboard. ” mom answered. After my dad called Ava in the house, me and my mom rushed to the clinic, I got checked up on what happened and what I would have to do for the past week. The following week I got X-rays on my body to see if I got injured badly anywhere
