An example of this is when one of the men at the campfire questions the locket. Then another man describes the locket as a charm that protects Edmond which explains why Edmond hasn’t gotten a scratch since joining. This gives away the ending because the man calls the locket a charm that protects him. Later in the story we find out that Edmond is alive after being assumed dead. From the beginning we figure out that Edmond might not die because of the mans description of the locket.
The third point comes right before the climax during Edmonds dream. Edmond has two dreams. One about Octavie and another about a snake. Edmonds dream with the snake is the third point in the story that gives away the ending. Edmonds dream represents the locket being stolen. During Edmonds dream he has a snake coiling around his throat and gets away before Edmond could grasp it. Edmonds dream is very important because one can find out that the locket was stolen.
These three points can make the ending very predictable. Edmonds dream, Judge Pillar mention of miracles, and the lockets being compared to a charm are just three of many other points that give away the
