Being a student athlete is a wonderful thing in high school, despite a lot of people only acknowledge the athlete part and not the student part. I believe that academics come first and if a high school student wants to be an athlete, then getting good grades should be a requirement. It should be mandatory for teachers and coaches to check the grades of student athletes weekly to determine whether students are performing academically well or not. The students that aren’t doing well should be dismissed from any further games and practices until their grades improve. It is important that student athletes maintain good grades because the work that they put into their school performance carries with them through life, putting too much of an emphasis…

While many of these institutions have applied policies against bullying, there are still many instances documented where a student has suffered mental, emotional, or physical abuse by the hands of another student. Many of the children that partake in this particular behavior have no idea what kind of consequences their actions will have or either do not care. It is the education system’s job to teach and show students that bullying can be detrimental to someone’s life and that they will have no tolerance towards the issue. I feel that schools should enforce a no tolerance bullying campaign that in which if students are found bullying another through any form of medium, they must then go to the school councilor to address the issue as well as get parents involved. By doing so students will be able to address problems fully with a professional and this professional can scaffold proper behavior. Furthermore, I believe that every school should help kids build confidence in the classrooms, so that even if they are bullied, the effect of it will be less because of their high efficacy. Additionally, I like the idea of getting parents involved in two ways. One would be at the school in which when a student is caught bullying or is victimized, the parent is made aware and then can further address and discuss this issue with their child.…
