Mothers Against Drunk Driving or MADD was founded in 1980 by Candy Lighter, whose daughter was tragically killed by a drunk driver. MADD is an organization to help reduce drunk driving traffic fatalities. There are numerous anti drunk driving commercials out there, but I believe this on is the best, which is named Best MADD Anti DUI commercial ever on YouTube. It is the best because the organization’s use of ethos, pathos, and logos create an effective call to action for viewers to make more responsible choices. The video contains ethos by stating a few words at the beginning of the video of how much MADD has made a change, but they are honest in saying they still have a long way to go.…

The theme in both “The White Umbrella” and “The Medicine Bag” are very similar in many ways. In the story “The White Umbrella” the theme is to be happy with yourself and your culture. This is the theme because in the story the narrator was worried about what other people thought of her, which led to her defying her mother to get an umbrella that she thought was beautiful. The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe was written over 150 years ago and the diction is a little hard to understand. This poem contains a lot of rhythmic rhyming. The speaker is emotional and the tone is intense. As the events of the poem grow more intense, the words and the rhythm of the poem pick up too.…
