In May of 2008, The Learning Channel (TLC) hosted a reality show called the Little Couple (The Little Couple, 2008). The show is about Jen Arnold and William (Bill) Klein; they are two individuals that were born with skeletal dysplasia (The Little Couple, 2008). Jen and Bill made the decision to document their lives on national television, so that other individuals could not only meet them in the privacy of their own homes; but, have the opportunity to understand their disease and it’s process (The Little Couple, 2008). They also give the world the chance to take a close look into their personal, professional and family life; showing that they have daily decision making and struggles just like anyone else that does not have a disability.

Jen is (3'2") and Bill (4 feet) tall (The Little Couple). Bill stands at 4 feet and has a rare variation of a skeletal dysplasia called Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia (or SED) and he has had more than 20 surgeries (The Little Couple). She stands at just 3 foot 2 and has a similar, and also rare type of dwarfism called Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Type Strudwick, Jen has had more than 30 surgeries and in 2015 she fought a rare cancer (The Little …show more content…
Jen Arnold is currently the medical director of the Simulation Center at Texas Children's Hospital and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX (The Little People; Executive Speakers). She has spoken both nationally and internationally at venues such as the Texas Conference for Women, Shiners Hospital, March of Dimes, received numerous awards including the Ray E. Helfer Award for innovation in medical education from the Academic Pediatric Association, Compassionate Doctor Recognition in 2010/2011 and Patients' Choice Award for 2008-2012 and Top Ten Doctors 2012 awards from Vitals.com (Executive Speakers, The Little People; The Little People, 2008). She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Academic Pediatric Association, and Society for Simulation in Healthcare and is on the council for the National Association of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions (Executive Speakers, The Little People; The Little People, 2008).
