Until, I walked into my teachers’ class who later became Mrs. Hutson, I was curious to see what this class was really like so when she told us to get out a piece of paper I was cautious as to what was going on. She then asked us to write a onepage story about ourselves and I felt relieved for the moment as I told myself, “ahhh this is easy.” So I wrote my paper and turned it in, keep in mind I was still in the eighth grade so I really didn’t know how to write a good complete somewhat of an essay. A few days pass and everyone gets their papers back and not one of us passed not even close to passing, I felt so disappointed because I have never gotten a grade of such. I thought to myself, “was our teacher going to be like this all year” and “was she being serious on our grades?” Luckily it turned out that she knew the whole time that all of us were going to fail, we had never been taught how, she told us that the essay had nothing to do with anything she mainly wanted to see how much we really cared about our grades. Now with that being said, literature can be a very useful subject in life depending on the circumstances. It obviously is needed to obtain a good education, or I wouldn’t have told you one of my most cherishing memories. Literature is something I will use in college in no matter the degree I pursue. I want to become a lawyer, and like I know as well as anyone you have to read and write more then you have to for any other degree. Literature is something I will use daily in the profession of being a lawyer. Although it is something I will have to do, it’s not something that I will enjoy; writing is not one of my strengths but knowing I had a good teacher, being Mrs. Hudson who taught me as good as anyone could have. There is an art to being a good writer, and being able to do it the right way, it’s not always about the good grammar or the spelling but about the story the writer is pursuing. Literature has to become one of my best friends threw out these next three to four years knowing it is going to be the main thing to get me through college and to the next step in my life. I am really confident in my abilities of being a good writer, although I have many different obstacles to overcome it is possible, and with knowledge I can get out of taking this class. I feel that if can be determined enough to believe in the system and better myself in writing each and every essay given I
