The Lit Circles Project

1.) What do you feel you did really well in this term?
During the course of Term 3, something I did really well was working on the Lit Circles Project. I put a lot of effort into my assigned role sheets and made sure that it was quality. I also thought that I managed my time exceptionally well, so I didn't need to cram anything during the end, making reading and reflecting upon "Goodnight Mister Tom" an awesome learning experience.

During the second semester of my junior in high school, I collaborated with two other biology students to study for our International Baccalaureate exams in May. I am not trying to say that my teacher was a terrible teacher but the teacher was retiring the following year and did not worry too much about our success in the exams. My two classmates and I decided to form a study group. We each would study and try our hardest to understand particular chapters and then share the chapters with the other two. By going this route, we were able to maximize our knowledge intake on the year and a half biology syllabus which we did not have time for.…

1.Out of the required readings for this class, I really enjoyed the summer reading of Slaughterhouse-Five. Particularly I liked how Kurt Vonnegut wrote each chapter during a different time period because the main character, Billy, was “unstuck in time”. I just overall loved the story line and the satirical message Vonnegut was conveying about war and violence. 2.I believe the best piece of work I did in your class was the Most Influential Person essay on Ashlyn Harris. Out of all of the essays we were forced to write all year, this one in particular allowed me to express why Ashlyn Harris is so important to me.…

There are several practices that allow a student to be more successful in college. Every individual is different and there will be variations in study technique, but one of the most vital ways a student can be successful is to put in the time. Time ties into many successful practices such as putting in the time to study, not procrastinating, and allotting certain time every day to dedicate to school work. Many professors present a recommendation of how many hours of study time should be put in for every hour of class time. A successful student will take that recommendation and use it to their advantage.…

And Still We Rise by Miles Corwin 1) In this book there was two teachers, Toni Little and Anita Moultrie. These two teachers had different styles of teaching their class. One way of teaching that really popped out at me was how Toni assigned an essay to the class to see the difference in writing of the student. This way she would be able to see which students were dedicated to school or which ones where just there to be there and not even pay attention.…

The first thing that I did was introducing myself and saying three things about me. The teacher then came to me and explained how the day was going to go. The plan was to start with math then move on to reading before resses started.…
