The Lionesses Role In Pride Of Lions

Decent Essays
Some animals, like dogs and cats, can develop special relationships between each other. Animals have an instinct to look after each, like a dog looking after a baby squirrel if it fell out of it's nest. There are many other essences too, like how a red bird might take care of a baby blue bird. A dog that just had a litter of puppies just might take care of some kittens.

The animals have the proclivity to care and nurture each other. In passage one the lions stick together because while one lionesses is out hunting, or something happens to her other lionesses will look after her cubs. Also the male lions sentinel the lions within that pride. This is a lionesses role in a pride of lions. Another epitome from passage two is how an owl got

This article, written by Margaret Lazarus basically discusses her views on a popular movie at this time, The Lion King. She begins by talking about how excited she and her sons are to see the newly released box-office record breaking Walt Disney movie. Shortly after, she jumps right into discussing how stereotypical and prejudiced the movie is. She claims that it is stereotypical and prejudiced against African Americans, gays, and even the ghettos of current society. She points out that the golden-maned “good” lion presents his first born male child to the others of the ecosystem or animal kingdom, and they all pay tribute to this lion cub, who will one day be their king.…

In “A Change of Heart about Animals,” Jeremy Rifkin asserts, “[Animals] feel pain, suffer and experience stress, affection, excitement and even love.” Not necessarily so. Is there any evidence that animals mourn on the death of other animals, or party at birth of new animals? Do they live with their partners or family if animals experience affection and love? Rifkin makes a bold claim that pigs need social(human) contact because they are easily depressed if isolated, but he doesn’t support it scientifically.…

In Rewilding Our Hearts by Marc Bekoff (2014), he addresses how humans can change their ways to contribute to the restoration of environments damaged by human action or lack thereof. He argues that though there has been a paradigm shift in the ways in which we perceive animals has changed through beginning to see non-human animals as sentient beings (Bekoff 2014, pg. 1), there is still more change that people must become more involved with. And that is to save the ecosystems and provide protection for non-human animals and the environments they live in. Bekoff (2014) presents numerous factors in how we can contribute to a successful rewilding process such as compassion (pg. 4). Douglas’ (2015) also mentions compassion in his list of steps in how to transform society.…

I believe that long time ago a flood affected the Earth and killed many people. I believe this because evidence from this event has been found, archaeologists have found bones from children in the Yellow River Valley. The children are believed to have been trapped by a large flood during the 2000 B.C. The plot line form the “Book of Ruth” and the “Boaz Asleep” are very different because the first one is a story and the second one is a poem. I think that the setting of the “Book of Ruth” is different than the one in the poem “Boaz Asleep” because on the "Book of Ruth" you know that it happened between Israel and Moab while, on the “Boaz Asleep" you do not know it happens.…

It is getting away from iPhones, computers, and the television.…

The theme that both the article and the poem share is that lions should be free and about people’s feeling for lions. In the beginning of the story The Wild Life of Christian the Lion, the author, Tod Olson states at the bottom of the page “Can a lion born in a cage ever learn to be free?” and at the end of the story it answers that question, yes. It said at the end of the story that Christian was able to survive in the wild with his own pride, free. Then in the poem it says “And so they belong at watering holes, shaking manes in hot sun” meaning that they both want lions to be free in the wild.…

In the beginning of “Animal Roles and Relationships” the writer starts to talk about sea animals and their environment and how the sea urchins and crabs have that relationship of protecting each other. Disney is known for producing well-rounded children’s movies that promote high moral standards. Children think the story of The Lion King is about a young cub, Simba, who looses his father but returns to Pride Rock to save the Kingdom his father once ruled. However, behind this tale, there are political undertones (Hierarchy and race in Disney- Lion King). For instance, in The Lion King, lions are successful because they know how to rule. They have gender norms, they know the appropriate time to use force versus negation, they have “swagger”, are muscular and are at the top of the food chain (Wlm5086).…
