Based on the what was learned about trust in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, trust is the most basic trait needed in everyday life. Without it, things cannot set into motion. Aslan is portrayed as a great ruler of Narnia, kind and merciful, just as lions were known to be in medieval folklore. He is trusted by the inhabitants of Narnia to lead them out of the Witch’s evil rule. The fact that C.S. Lewis was expressing his opinions and showing the value of trust in the story through the characters is shown in my interpretation of the several events in the

Unquestionably in this case that The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe particularly concentrates on greediness. Edmund's plunge into the Witch's administration starts amid his mad utilization of the enchantment Turkish Delight. Since this is the charmed Turkish Delight, Edmund can't be considered responsible for his intemperance as though he were overindulging in standard treat. The genuine sin happens when Edmund permits himself to focus on the Turkish Delight long after he leaves the Witch. Edmund's use of the Turkish Delight might likewise be a reference to the transgression of Adam and Eve, when they ate from the Tree of Knowledge.…

In the Live Globe performance of the Twelfth Night, the issues of gender identity and alternative sexuality registers different from the reading mainly with a sense of humor. For example, when Viola says to Olivia, referring to Maria, “ Most Radiant, Exquisite, and unmatchable beauty-/ I pray you tell me if this be the lady of the house, for I/ never saw her” (1.5. 161-163). In the written play, this line would be read and most likely not get much of a response other than an acknowledgment. Though, in the Globe performance, after Viola says this. The camera focuses on Maria; who then smirks at the camera and receives loud laughter.…

C.S. Lewis once said that “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” A majority of Lewis’ works focused on adversity, especially prevalent in the novel, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Indeed, high risk situations play an important role in developing a person’s character. Often, adversity allows mental ability that would have normally lain dormant come to fruition and change us. Under pressure people often think outside of the box to help adapt to dangerous situations, coming up with new and innovative ideas.…

The Hobbit Chapters 9-10 Is there a difference between a thief and a burglar? Many people assume that they are the same thing, however, they are two different things. A thief is someone who takes someone else’s property, without the owner’s consent, and will take whatever they want, whenever they want, whereas a burglar is someone who breaks into a private property to take something. In the novel “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien, the protagonist, a fabled species called a Hobbit, named Bilbo Baggins is appointed with the title, “Burglar”. He received this name by the wizard, Gandalf, and 13 other dwarves.…

The beavers imply that other Narnians have faith in Aslan, knowing he will take action in his own timing to overcome the evil in their world. This is explained in chapter eight, “wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight…” (Lewis 74). As Christ is the center of Christianity, Aslan is implied as the center of Narnia. In chapter fourteen, Aslan offers to sacrifice himself on the stone table in the place of Edmund, even though Aslan had done nothing wrong to deserve this punishment.…

This quote from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis helps support the plot of the novel by showing how important Aslan will be in the future, as of his name was spoken, all the children were experiencing different feelings that they have never expected. This also adds to the scene and mood because it shows how the simple phrase can change the entire feeling of the main characters during this scene. This could be a symbol of things yet to come, because if they heard a name that they have never heard of and it brings well being to them, that name must be important. Another reason this quote will show things yet to come is because the feelings the children get would determine what their inner traits are, as Peter felt brave and…

How does the story of the Lion, the Witch, and the wardrobe reflect Christian beliefs and what does it teach us about the Christian faith? By Adam Shooshtarian The story of Narnia is one of the most popular fantasy novels in the world having sold over 100 million copies in 47 different languages. When you read or watch Narnia for the first time you may not understand the true meaning of the events taking place, for there is more depth and hidden meaning to what seems like an innocent children’s book. There are many references to Christian beliefs and the film itself is packed with references to Christianity. When C.S. Lewis wrote Narnia his true aim was not to educate children about Christianity but to introduce children to similar ideas to make it easier for them to accept Christianity as it was the main religion in England.…

I chose to advertise ‘the chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ as a book store named ‘Page Turner’. I chose this because I have a passion for reading books and was interested in making an advertisement as a bookstore trying to sell a featured book. My target audience is people regularly read books and travel to book stores. The advertisement would be published on the front counter at the bookstore so when people come to buy one of the books they will see ‘fiction of the month’ and of its eye-catching images, it is likely someone would pick it up and may even buy the book.…

Shrek: A Grotesque Fairytale From the first scene in Shrek, released in 2001, one can clearly expect a series of cynicism and crude humor embedded in a fairy tale. Dreamworks reinvents the tradition pattern of fairy tale happy endings by creating the most bizarre creature: Shrek. The hideous character was first introduced in William Steig 's book published in 1990, and according to critics, Steig 's version of Shrek is more confident and upbeat than the pessimistic and cynical version presented in the movie. Shrek is a cliché version of a classical fairy tale prince, who rescues the princess and they live happily ever after. However, the prince in the story is an ogre and the princess is a traditional "pretty" and "white" princess, who becomes an ogre once the sun sets.…

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, is a film adaptation of the beloved book by C.S Lewis. While reading a book, one is forced to make up an entire world in their heads. The way the world is shaped, the way it sounds, the way it moves, the laws it has, the landscape it utilizes, and the society it inhibits is all up to the reader; however, when watching a film these ideas are chosen for us. There is no way around these choices because it is what we are forced to see. The imagined world is shattered and replaced with a world that one might not agree with.…

Fairy tales are often critically evaluated as having complex socio-political commentaries. Two such tales that have strong socio-political commentaries are Snow White and Cinderella. Variants in different versions of fairy tales help shape a specific commentary. One striking example of this is seen by contrasting Disney’s 1937 Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with 1979 film Cinderella by Soyuzmultfilm.…
