For the past 80 years, there has been an ongoing debate about which Disney movie is greatest. It seems as if every individual has their own opinion and belief about which movie is the best and why. “Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it.” This teaches that the past is something to be learned from, not to be forgotten. Mufasa teaches a lesson to Simba that we each can use in our everyday when he says that “being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.” One of the most famous lessons learned through The Lion King is the catchy phrase “Hakuna Matata”. It means no worries, for the rest of our lives. There is no better motto to live by. On the other side of things, Beauty and the Beast teaches more negative lessons than good. For instance, Belle develops stockholm system, developing affection towards her captor. I went to the Minskoff Theatre in New York City expecting to be very bored. I had never been to a Broadway play, and The Lion King probably wouldn’t have been my first pick if left up to me, but my wife had wanted to see it since she was a little girl. When I went to get concessions before the play started, the concession worker asked me if I was excited about the show and when I didn’t seem too enthused she mentioned that the show had been going on for 14 years, so it must be good to keep running for that amount of time. She was right and I think the play version of The Lion King was far more enjoyable than the movie version.…

These media, classic play and animated children's film, are not as far separated as many may think. Each starts with a story they wish to tell. Nowadays, Disney movies are a hit or miss: it is hard to live up to the motto “a film the entire family can enjoy” with every movie. Yet, Disney made an animated masterpiece when it created a utopia for zoo animals. With these features and themes, Zootopia is Disney’s latest movie to engross more than its intended children audience. First and foremost, Zootopia’s humor can be appreciated by the entire family.…
