When debating whether a classic is more understood by adults or children, films can be a great subject. The Lion King is well-known not only for its singing animals but also for the death of Simba’s father, Mufasa. Romeo and Juliet, on the other hand, is known for a love story where two lovers died. When it comes to children, The Lion King is more of a classic than Romeo and Juliet because the family feud is way easier to understand, it has easy themes for children to comprehend, and it is a timeless tale.

Romeo and Juliet is a love story that tells us about two people that would do anything for love. That is where the problem begins. If children see Romeo and Juliet and somehow understand the content they would not understand the theme. In The Lion King children would be more likely to understand the theme of love because in the scene where Nala, a lioness and Simba’s childhood friend, pleads Simba, Mufasa’s son and heir to Pride Rock, to come back his home or she would go without him Simba has to make a decision that changes his future. Simba then chooses to follow Nala back because he loves her and his mother that he left behind.
