The lion king shows us what it means to have courage and doing the right thing. In the scene where Mufasa dies it begins with Simba going to see something scar told him. While he is waiting he hears a rumbling train like sound and feels the floor start to shake. He notices a stamped of antelope coming straight at him. Mufasa catches wind that his son is in danger and without hesitation he runs towards his song. Once Mufasa sees Simba hanging from a tree he goes directly to him. Mufasa goes straight into the stampede with total disregard for his own life and safety. He has tunnel vision and only wants to save Simba. He finally reaches Simba and carries him to safety and in the process of saving his only son he is killed by the stampede. Mufasa …show more content…
Scar’s jealousy of his brother being a king drives scar to come up with a plan that will eliminate him so he can rule. Scar is power hungry and will do anything to become king. Scar leads Simba to the stampede location to get Mufasa to be in a dangerous situation. Mufasa finally gets to the top of the mountain and encounters his brother scar. He pleads for his brother to save him and scar sinks his claws into Mufasa’s paws tells him “long live the king” and pushes his brother off the mountain. The ultimate sin of murder is committed and what is worse is that he had premediated the entire situation. At any moment during the events he could have decided to help his brother and nephew but watched them struggle in absolute panic and fear. At no time did scar show one sign of remorse and furthermore he seemed to enjoy the fear in both of them. All scar could see was eliminating them both to rule. The ultimate evil was committed only for Scar’s gain. Scar watched both Mufasa and Simba suffer pure agony as they both realized they might not make it out of the stampede alive. At one point the bird Mufasa right hand bird is frantic and tries to convince Scar to get help but Scar is not phased and knocks him out and continues to enjoy watching the terror unfold. There are many factors and personalities that create families and communities. There is always good and bad in the world and the Lion King strives to show what happens when good and evil both prevail. Simba struggles in the beginning to understand what having power truly means. He believes power is having everything you want at your fingertips and not having to do anything but sitting back and just letting everyone do everything for you. Mufasa tries to instill that power is more than yourself, it is about doing what is right by those you have power over. When Mufasa dies and there is a moment where Simba will need to be king, events of his father’s death prevents him from stepping into his rightful role of a king. Mufasa’s brother is more than willing to take the role and uses power for his own selfish fulfillment. He has no humility as Mufasa did and he does nothing for his den. The lion den knows he is only taking care of himself however they fall into a well-known trap of following someone who is dangerous and does have their wellbeing even on his list. Eventually Simba forgives himself for the events that happened with his father and forgives himself as he was not to blame. More importantly he realizes he can no longer selfish and remain in a calm new home but he has do the right thing by his community and come back and take over as the
