Narnia
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is set during World War II. It takes place around four children decided to play hide and seek in a house, and one day and the youngest girl Lucy found a wardrobe to hide in. When Lucy entered the wardrobe she found herself able to go further and further into it and ended up in a strange place. The wardrobe had led her to a land covered of snow. When Lucy started walking around she met a fawn, Tumnus, who took her to his house. She became friends with him until he broke down and explained to her that he worked for the White Witch, and was supposed to bring all humans he captured to her. “A superficial understanding of Anselm has led many to reject his argument as invalid. Just because we can imagine something, however great, does not mean that it exists” (Williams). When Lucy decided to go through the wardrobe for the second time her brother, Edmund, followed her. Like when Aslan rose form the dead. It made me think of when Jesus rose from the dead, because Aslan sacrificed his life for the sins Edmund made, just as Jesus died for our sins (Mark 16). I also liked how Lucy kept pushing her brothers and sisters to believe her about Narnia as the disciples of Jesus kept pushing everyone they met to believe in him. This to me resembles how we have to believe in God no matter how crazy people tell us we are. We have to keep pushing them to believe and encounter the same joy of Christ or the same joy of being in a land of

The Chronicles of Narnia book series, for years, has been under the watchful eye of Christians and Non-Christians alike in search of Biblical parallels. There are the more obvious parallels: Aslan’s death on the Stone Table in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe/Jesus’ death on the cross, the Rapture/the end of Old Narnia in The Last Battle, and the two creation stories found in Genesis/The Magician’s Nephew. However, there are far more subtle Biblical parallels that Lewis himself might not even have realized that he had written. One of those such parallels I will discuss here: how Lucy and Susan’s character and attitudes in Prince Caspian relate to Mary and Martha of Bethany.…

As the pages of my favorite childhood story flutter through my fingers, memories of fantastical worlds flood my mind. I begin to read aloud about the four children, sent away to a mysterious house and the wardrobe that transports them to a magical new land. The tale is just as enchanting as I recall, but this time through the story, the magic I appreciate most is not found in the pages of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.…

Lewis uses Augustine’s clarification of the serpent being linked to Satan as to the White Witch. He says” Satan made the serpent subject to him in spiritual wickedness, and, by abusing it as his instrument, had deceitful converse with woman.” The serpent tricked Eve by making Eve eat from the tree of forbidden knowledge. The same thing happened with Edmund who was ticked by the White Witch and gave in and ate the Turkish delight. Edmund became so infatuated with the Turkish delight and wanted to follow the White Witch with what ever she did.…

Since the beast is seen as a monstrous beast, you would think that it would be impossible for anyone to fall in love with him. For this reason, Gaston is brought up in the movie as the complete opposite of the beast. “The fact that Disney creates this “charming” character as a “bad guy” and casts a “horrible ugly beast” as the “good guy” (who Belle even states is “no prince charming”) utterly goes against the stereotype, replacing it instead with the message that it’s not what a person has on the outside that matters, but what’s on the inside (Wynn Earl).” Disney helps get this message across by making Gaston the handsomest gentlemen in town with big muscular biceps and he happens to want to marry the prettiest girl, Belle. Unfortunately for…

At the end of the play, the characters realized that the dream of a house was the most important dream because it united the family. Many characters have mentioned dreams throughout the play.…
