There is a lot of misinformation on the internet about healthy eating and healthy living. My hope is to squash some of the misconceptions today about the link between reducing disease risks and drinking nutritious smoothies. Hippocrates, a doctor from 460 B.C. once said “Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” During a time when the common belief was that sickness stayed in one area of the body, Hippocrates countered that idea with a school of thought that sickness was in unison with the entire body and every part of the body must be in harmony to avoid disease, interestingly, Hippocrates lived to be very old.

Imagine screwing on the bladed lid and pressing start. You have just consumed almost a whole daily serving of your recommended fruit and vegetable intake for the day at breakfast!
If more people were to drink smoothies to aid in getting vital nutrients every day, there would be a reduction in the risk for some cancers. Getting into a healthier habit such as drinking nutrient rich smoothies every day will have numerous benefits within the first week. Drinking fruit and vegetable smoothies is not going to cure any diseases, however, it can boost your immune system and have positive psychological effects on the way someone views healthful eating habits. While investigating whether or not consumption of fruit and vegetable smoothies is the healthier alternative to getting healthier than eating one salad a day for instance, it has been found that a good balance of making wise choices as to what you eat, how much you eat and how much exercise and sleep you get is ultimately the best way to gain optimal health. There are many benefits to consuming vegetables and fruits by drinking them.
