8 Personality Theories
When viewing the presentation concerning the several different approaches to how human behavior is perceived, I was intrigued by the different areas but also some confirmed what I had been thinking all along.
Starting with the 8 personality theories. First being the psychodynamic theory. Psychologist Sigmund Freud started off at this theory and all of the following psychologists took his theory and either added or took away from his theory. Psychodynamics is where the human being unconsciously motivated are seeking to obtain and balance their sexual and aggressive urges. This is a personality and form …show more content…
This is the theory that humans are both conscious and unconscious actors that strive for their goals. Psychologist Carl Jung’s theory is that personal unconscious has a person’s forgotten experiences and ideas that were not completely developed. Basically, what we come in contact with makes us who we are …show more content…
This theory is known for human beings being free and responsive searching for happiness in spirituality and potential. Viewing this theory we are to look at the fundamentally goodness in people everywhere. We look at their morals, goals, and looking for what they’re striving towards. Psychologist Abraham Maslow established the notion of self actualization meaning that we are looking for fulfillment in the potential that we possess. Another well-known psychologist, Carl Rogers, established the theory of the fully functioning person. This phrase is known as someone’s own thoughts about their accomplishments and their goals that have not yet been fulfilled. Also, there is the unconditional positive regard being acceptance towards another person regardless of the way they
