Do you enjoy fantasy stories with a little greek mythology? If so, The Lightning Thief is the best story for you. The Lightning Thief, by Rick Riordan, is about how Perseus and his friends, Grover and Annabeth, are going on different adventures to figure out who the Lightning Thief is. The Lightning Thief if unique because it has the mythical gods and goddesses as the character’s parents. The book is different/unique because it has events that are no where near true but they are so detailed.

There was a boy named Perseus, aka Percy Jackson. Percy Jackson was the protogonist of The Lightning Thief. He was 12 years old and is the son of Poseidon. Percy Jackson is dyslexic and has ADHD. Perseus is very brave. He has black hair and green eyes.

he started off as just a normal kid in school until he finds out that he is a demigod. He was told to find his mom and and the “Thunderbolt” before the Winter Solstice. The Winter Solstice is an astronomical phenomenon marking the shortest day and the longest night of the year. They are also trying to find the Lightning Thief.

Percy retrieved the thunderbolt that was taken from Poseidon. When he retrieved the Thunderbolt, Luke reveals that he is The Lightning Thief. Luke was like Kronos’s minion because he worked for him. Kronos tried to kill Percy by sending a pit scorpion, but that was no match for Percy. After Percy’s adventures, he chose to go home and back to school before he returns aging the upcoming summer.

This book is recommended because you will enjoy the adventures and how the book is very detailed. Because of the characters, the book is even more interesting because the character, Grover, is half goat and half human, It makes you imagine what he really looks like. The book would be best for young adults because I think young adults would enjoy this book because of the imagery and the excellence. The main character is a role model because he is like the leader of their click/group. He is also a role model because even though he is afraid of things, he is brave enough to overcome his
