Guide to the Light In the past, education has been, at the simplest form, the deliverance of one-sided information, and whether or not the students learns it or accepts it, it will be presented. This is like the shadows in Plato’s Allegory of the Cave casted on the cave walls being the only reality the prisoners know. Technology allows everyone, especially students, to see the same information, most likely more, and most likely from different angles. This is like the ascent of a prisoner into the light, being full of brilliance and enlightenment. And just like the prisoners befuddlement at the first exposure of light, technology may come with a little confusion and shakiness in its initial introduction to the classroom. Even so, technology is very beneficial to the education of students because of technology’s ability to access vast amounts of information along with the tools to sort through the information, demonstrate experiments or concepts that have …show more content…
The future about technology in education has many possible routes, like everyone’s brains could one day be connected to the internet, eliminating the need to remember information as it would be immediately accessible to the brain, or holograms may be invented to teach what is on the internet in ways a human teacher can not. The possibilities are endless, however, people today must prepare for the people of tomorrow. Technology implementation into the ordinary classroom today is imperative for the success of technology in the future, no matter how tentative some aspects may be. Even though the current technology is extremely advanced, further advancements are likely, and the education systems must be prepared to take on these advancements with open arms because just as businesses who are not updating are being left behind today, schools that do not update now or in the near future will be left behind as
