While I was reading the book I could see many theories from our lectures, and also picked up on some things he said in his speech.…

Gibson: “Don’t expect mangoes when you plant papayas.” Through the turbulent and exhausting challenges presented in our everyday lives, it is easy for the correlation between preparation and achievement to become skewed. However, during his infamous “Seventh of March” speech, Webster supported the Compromise of 1850 and specifically the strengthening of the Fugitive Slave Act.…

Church hosts an annual “MLK Walk” in remembrance of Dr. King who led a march on Mississippi Highway 16, which runs through a portion of this community, to aid desegregation and assist African-Americans in receiving voting rights. He slumbered at Oak Grove while in our community and it brings honor and joy to commemorate both the man and his selfless actions. With that realization, I recognize that a portion of our small community stands as testament to an era which began a movement for the betterment of all Americans. Following his example of seeking methods to assure better good for all mankind, has been inspiration to me to envision ways of making a true…

Enoch Powell's speech shows that attitudes to other races was very hateful, and common, because in the speech it says, "Here is a decent, ordinary fellow Englishman, who in broad daylight in my own town says to me, his Member of Parliament that his country will not be worth living in for his children. " This suggests that people in high power were racist, as well, and that many agreed to this point of view, because that's how they were brought up. They are not doing well with change, so they delude themselves into thinking that they are the superior race, compared to the others. This could also mean that he considers the immigrants, to be lewd.…
