Understanding the material is the most important part for the student to learn; this is what learning is. I want to make sure that every lesson plan I make, reaches every student in my classroom. I do not one single student falling behind because I was not able to differentiate a lesson plan. This is why altering a lesson to fit the needs of every student is extremely necessary. When creating the differentiation procedures, I really tried my best to organize the strengths and weakness of my students so that they would be able to learn from this lesson. I was aware that my CT alters lesson plans for students, but I did not realize that it should be written out in a format like the one above. This format lays out the information wonderfully and makes it understandable. Writing it out really puts meaning and thought behind what should be done in the classroom in order to successfully teach the lesson so that the students can grasp the concept. Since the students are so young, they are all on different levels and this is an extremely important point to keep in mind. If something is too difficult for them, the students will not do it and therefore they are not learning. When students become older and a lesson is just beyond their reach, they have the drive to do it. But since these students are so young, they do not have that drive yet …show more content…
I believe that the lesson plan will translate well into the classroom because it is on the average grade level where most of the students are. Since the differentiating lesson plan is more specific, there is always a possibility that it will not be a great fit for the student. Although I do not think so, the procedure for the below grade level could possibly be too easy for the student and he would want to write his own sentences or do the evaluation activity with the rest of the class. For the above grade level student, the work could also be too easy for her. Since she is able to write phonetically, creating the sentences might be just another easy activity for her. If this happens, then I will need to find something for the above grade level student to work on that somewhat challenges her. This could involve using flashcard for my above grade level student to test herself to see what symbols she knows. Finding modifications that are just right for students can be tricky. Young students are always growing in their knowledge and moving up levels in the classroom. Creating lesson plans are great, but you should be flexible and willing to change something to fit the students’
