Robin Sharma a canadian writer and leadership speaker who mainly talks the truth of being positive in life. She asserts “change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end.” This quote states that no matter what the trouble is there is always a lighter side to the story eventually. This relates to “The leRoy butler Story” since leroy had faced such adversity and change in his life that have affected him to this current day. A person can respond to change more effectively by maintaining a positive mindset through reading about others who have persevered through person at challenges.

While he was there he was told he could have seconds. ““You can have more she'd said, “Really I asked” “Yes, please take more, “This was only the second time in my life i’d ever had the opportunity for seconds at a meal” (46, Butler). This was such a change to him because he had never been fully before. In the projects money was hard to come by, so they were always stuck to having their serving of food, it is kind of sad to know how he basically starved due to the availability of not having money. LeRoy had always been on the basketball/ football team which had changed him to a star. When it came to playing baseball “I went from being on top of the world in football, basketball, and even track. To the bottom because of baseball. I had played hard, but there probably other kids who were more experienced and frankly better.” (55 Butler). He had only the experience of winning before.
