The legal drinking age in all of the United States is 21 and has been for quite a while. However, it does vary from state to state. Due to the twenty first amendment repealing the eighteenth amendment, which had mandated nationwide prohibition on alcohol. This allowed for each state to be able to have their own drinking age. In regards to the new law, thirty states had their minimum drinking age lowered from twenty one. The legal drinking age in the United States should be lowered from twenty one to eighteen, because one is considered a legal adult and it will reduce alcohol related accidents and fatalities.
In the United States age eighteen is the age of adulthood, and adults should have the right to make their own decisions regarding alcohol
