When it comes to gambling in New Jersey there are two things to look at or think about when it comes to gambling. The first thing to think about is the age to be able to gamble at a casino. The age that one is allowed to gamble in New Jersey is 21 years old. Next, what are the consequences of underage gambling? The consequences for underage gambling in New Jersey are a fine of the $500 and a loss of your driver’s license for six months. My opinion on the legal age of gambling and the penalties associated with underage gambling should be changed to a younger age, but the penalties should be increased more for a more serious stress when someone is caught doing underage gambling. My opinion on under age gambling is that it should be taken more seriously and a higher penalty should be made. Having a higher penalty will make underage gamblers think twice about committing this crime. Also I think that if the crime has been done more than once the same person that the penalty should increase in jail should add time to the repeated offenses by those who commit the crime of underage gambling repeatedly. Adding a higher penalty Will either scare under age gamblers to stay away or make them more money and making them unable to afford to gamble. Doing this will also stop underage young adults from developing a gambling problem. Also, I think that a penalty for underage gambling should be a temporary band to casinos for a certain amount of years if caught underage gambling. This should be a crime taken to a high degree to help stop underage gambling and gambling problems.
