Despite lederhosen being popularly associated with Sweden, they are not customarily worn in the country. According to Constanze Arnold, “this traditional style of dress is inherently Bavarian and [will not] be seen outside Bavaria” in terms of fashion. Therefore the image of a Swede dressed in lederhosen is comparably humorous to that of an American wearing the outfit due to the fact that Swedes have no historical or traditional relationship with the ensemble. Now, although typical Swedish style is expected to be traditional like the lederhosen, the country has developed a very modern fashion sense. Undoubtedly, “Swedish fashion is considered to be wearable, trend-sensitive, functional, and price-worthy” (“Swedish Fashion in Summary”). Lederhosen are far too traditional for Sweden’s progressive and modern taste in clothing; they simply do not match. As a result of their high fashion, Sweden has cultivated a long-term name in the industry far beyond the reach of lederhosen. Despite common assumptions the lederhosen is not worn in Sweden, nor is it traditional for the country as their people have a highly modern, trendy style. Their music is too well beyond yodeling, again due to it not being customary, and because they have a broader variety of popular genres. Another defeated prediction is that their weather is sad, but in reality they experience bright moderate seasons. Although jumping to these perceptions may be simple, it is never wrong to have an open mind for other perspectives as well-rounded stories bear the most
