We all have those days, weeks that seem to make you question why am I doing this? Is this really worth all the grief? I have heard many methods of dealing with stress and none seemed to work for me or I just simply did not care to try it or keep doing it after a couple days. During the stress management class the idea of how we perceive stress as a negative can have negative physiological and emotional influences on us and by simply attempting to adjust our perception of it can help effectively change that negative to a positive was brilliant. I have been working towards my degree in psychology with the plan to become a counselor or social worker when I retire. Recently I have felt that it would be hard for me to detach emotionally from patients and their issues and have been rethinking that degree choice. After meeting and speaking with Chief George, I have been researching coaching and it has sparked a definite interest again in keeping with my passion to help people in a different yet still positive way. Coaching has an interesting take to it by allowing the person to essentially identify and make their corrective choices and plans it feels like a better yet challenging fit. The challenge of better listening to people or being “curious” as Nick put it is something I am interested in
