As crime rates rise rapidly the fear of little authority to monitor or keep the streets safe have also became an issue. Although, with becoming an officer there is great responsibility that can occur with greater consequences if actions aren 't taken appropriately. However, excessive force is one of the most common forms of police misconduct (The Guardian). When the police arrive on the scene of any incident, they should be neutral. That is why these officers are trained both in the academy and in latter classes. Their training shouldn 't force them, but instead teach them to willingly act upon in any situation strictly not abusively with what the law says. However, in the cases where things go wrong and bad things happen, the error most cops make is prejudging the person or situation. For example, in the Chicago shooting case, the cops shot Laquan McDonald without asking any questions. In a dash board video that was released after the incident, shows Laquan walking away from the officers and was shot sixteen times including while he was on the ground. This case of police brutality was more of an execution. The officer may have had anger, an idea of killing someone that day, and or may have had an hatred towards a specific race, but either way he killed an innocent young man due to his abuse of authority.
