The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci is one of the world’s most famous paintings . Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath who adored multiple subject areas such as architecture, painting, music, literature etc. When The Last Supper was being created da Vinci used specific materials like tempera and oil plaster. The location of the painting is at Santa Maria delle Grazie Milan, Italy completed in 1498. The subject of the painting is about Christian iconography of two main ideas from the Gospel texts, referred to the betrayal of Jesus Christ. Jesus was feeding his traitor, Judas. It was a tradition that was familiar to Leonardo which is why he chose to depart. His conception of the theme was dominated by the idea of bringing out the betrayal.

I believe the artist is trying to convey that the painting is based off betrayal and trust. I feel that the painting is worth so much that Christians can relate to Leonardo because he referred to himself as a philosopher and he was so engaged into learning about different types of religious subjects. The Last Supper reminds me of family celebrations because while I was growing up I heard a lot about the painting and how it was a traditional thing my great grandparents would do. Since I have became older I started studied more about The Last
