Actions are more important than words and Randy Pausch had a lesson for that too in The Last Lecture,“When it comes to men who are romantically interested in you, it’s really simple. Just ignore everything they say and only pay attention to what they do.”(139). What is indicated in the quote is very much true, but it does not always apply to men. It is almost like when you are in high school and someone you have not been in contact with in a while comments on a picture on your social media or you just run into them somewhere and they say, “I have not seen you in so long! How are you? We need to hangout soon!” Honestly, they were probably just making conversation with you. People do not realize that actions mean so much more than words. I can relate to this so well with my dad. My dad always says that he is such a bad father because he only comes around on holidays, my birthday, or when I reach out to him and that he needs to make more of an effort. Yes, he says that, but does he do anything to fix it? No. Over the years I have become accustomed to him saying that he is going to make more time for me and I just let it go in one ear and out the other because I know he is not going to.
