Willy was a college dropout who didn’t think he would be very successful in his life. While he was in college, he didn’t hold high expectations for him. In fact, he failed many times. Later on, he began to hold higher expectations for him. One of his goals was to cover the biggest cases in Ford County. Because of this, his circulation continued to grow. In order to obtain this, he had to work very hard developing his stories and public appeal. This shows that we can accomplish anything we put our mind too with hard work. Another lesson is to not conform to those around us. If Willy would have been like Mr. Claude, then the paper would have gone bankrupt once again. If Miss Callie had not been on the jury, black people in her community would not have been inspired by her courage. My point is that change does not happen if everyone is the same. It is because of individuals that we make progress as a whole. The last life lesson that can be learned is that there will always be consequences for our actions. Although he was not in jail for as long as he should have been, Danny had to serve his jail time for raping and murdering Rhoda Kasselow. The Padgitts tried everything in order to prove Danny was innocent. However, with proper law enforcement and the justice system, Danny saw the inside of a jail cell. The positive thing about consequences is that we always come out a better person. We know not to make them same mistakes again. It is my goal
