Introduction- “I can’t run anymore.” The race is ending. Sam Williams makes a scandalous discovery about the last 13 that will change everything. This appalling discovery will bring out the worst in the last 13. This is a race which is more terrifying than Sam’s nightmares. I believe that the author chose this title because he wants to inform the audience that this is a book about loyalty and friendship. This book demonstrates loyalty and friendship because, the last 13 would never stab one another in the back. They also protect one another when danger is being faced. The last 13 protected each other before the villain of the book had a chance to kill them. 13 teenagers who embark on a journey to finish something that they never started, demonstrates that when friends are connected they can accomplish anything. This book is similar to the book, “Sleeper” written by Eric Walters. During the book, 7 kids set out on a journey to find out the truth about their grandfather. Each child is sent to a different part of the world to gather clues and to find out secrets that were being kept from them. In the last 13, 13 kids are sent out to different parts of the world to collect evidence on something very secretive. During this book, there were many high points as well as low points. One highlight about my book is that the author wrote the book as if the characters really do exist. He demonstrated affection and emotion in his literature, as well as engaging the audience. Some low parts of the book were that the book got confusing at times. The parts where the author decided to switch from nightmare to nightmare really shifted the focus for the
