Before the internet, most of these tribes were probably never even heard of before. It allows them to have more coverage than these people had previously. Being able to go on the internet and explore these groups of people also gives individuals more information, perhaps to minimize any discrimination, these people might receive. From just looking at a picture or hearing about them, some might already express judgement but if people are able to look them up and learn about their culture, their ways and traditions would be better understood. Also, people might be more prone to helping some of these groups because they learned about their struggles on the internet. For example, there is a large percentage of suicide in the younger age groups of the Inuit. This is clearly a big issue, so perhaps someone, who finds out about this on the internet, could visit this location and talk to the local youth. Maybe this could prevent any further suicide or at the very least, reduce the number. The Inuit is also dealing with some financial hardships and their health care is not the best. From the information on the internet, a person would make an effort to educate them on healthy ways of life or perhaps build a business, to give these people more work. This might seem a little farfetched however it is possible and without the internet, the large majority might not be aware of these issues.
