The Landlady Is A Serial Killer The landlady has already brutally murdered and stuffed two men around Billy’s age, and Billy could be next! The landlady invites Billy to her “Bed and Breakfast,” and at first things seem fine. However, Billy finds that there have been only two visitors in the past three years. Not only that, but the men checked in but never checked out, and because of this Billy becomes suspicious. Even though the landlady seems nice at first she is really a serial killer. The landlady has already killed and stuffed two men around Billy's age. She stated that the two men checked in but never checked out because they are still there. This is implying that she killed and stuffed them, and they are still at the “Bed and Breakfast.” The landlady also states that she “stuffs all her little pets.” She is mostly referring to the men as her “little pets.” Also the landlady has already stuffed her parrot and her dog, thus …show more content…
Billy signed the visitors book because the landlady told him to. She says that it is so that she does not forget his name. However, she has had only two visitors in the past three years, so she should not forget the names of the men. Also, Billy pointed out that the tea that the landlady prepared for him tastes faintly like bitter almonds. Because the tea tastes like that, it is most likely poisoned.
The “Bed and Breakfast” is warm and inviting with a dog and a parrot by the fire. However, looks can be deceiving. Even though the “Bed and Breakfast” looked warm and welcoming, it was not because the parrot and dog that were by the fire were not even alive. Billy noticed that the bird was not alive because it had not moved the entire time that he had stayed at the “Bed and Breakfast.” The landlady pointed out that the dog was not alive, and she told Billy that she had stuffed them. The fact that the animals were not alive give the “Bed and Breakfast” an eerie feeling instead of a welcoming

George’s grief over the loss of the Dream almost seems anticlimactic. However, the film portrays his sorrow vividly by focusing on George’s face as he rides alone in the train, accepting the emptiness of his life without Lennie. Another scene from the novel developing the theme of loneliness portrays Lennie having an imaginary conversation with his Aunt Clara. She berates him for doing bad things and tells him George will not let him tend the rabbits. This scene verges on melodrama.…

It is a known fact that both men and women had different tasks in society. In both plays “A Doll’s House” and “Trifles”, it is obvious how women are not treated as equals by the men. The play “A Doll’s House”, which takes place in a small town in Norway, tells the “happy” life of Nora and her husband, Trovald. Then the other play “Trifles”, which takes place in Nebraska, USA, tells how the men, and the women accompanying them react differently to the life the murder suspect lived. Even though these two plays are in different continents, it is easily noticeable how men look down on women.…

When the Landlady mentions that she is very particular about her guests, it seems very odd. In the business world, especially hotels, having customers is a very important part of making money. If the Landlady is selective with her customers, that would seem impractical to most people. Because of these key pieces of evidence, the conclusion that seems most likely is that the Landlady has some sort of psychic ability, and that she has used it on Billy…

Gender-neutral housing provides students with the option to live with each other regardless of their gender and sexual orientation. Some colleges across the nation have recently taken the initiative to allow gender-neutral housing on their campuses in order to make LGBTQ students feel comfortable. Hendrix College, while promoting its policies for a diverse community, would be among these schools to allow the housing plan with the discussion about the Miller Creative Quad dorms. However, I consider that the dorms should not provide gender-neutral housing because some students might become uncomfortable with the risks of the housing arrangement. The risks that follow gender-neutral housing might include relationships that lead to terrible consequences…
