The Lake Murder
With the wind flowing through my hair, and the salty taste of the air, the sun perfectly hit my bronze skin. We woke up bright and early before the sun could climb to the top of the sky. Jimmy and I observed the sun glisten off of the calming blue waters of the lake. We could’ve watched it all day. With Jimmy’s face all lit up, he had the idea to take the boat out on the lake for the day. Before we knew it, we were sailing across the water. All of a sudden, Jimmy and I both noticed constant bubbling coming from beneath the surface. Unless I glanced out of the corner of my eye, I wouldn't have noticed my coke bottle tipping backwards off of the boat.The fragrance of seaweed made its way to my nose. Once I looked forward I did not see my best friend, Jimmy.

Everyone packed up their chairs and scurried away like mice. They looked like blurs as they passed the Welcome to Loch Ness Lake sign. In the distance, I noticed an enormous tail submerge. Under the water I could see an outline of an enormous creature. Could it have been the Loch Ness Monster? Many stories have been passed down to me about the Loch Ness monster, but I never believed these tall tales until now. My body had taken over my mind and in the next instant I was in the water. I spied the monster and the creature stared straight back at me. As the mysterious creature sped towards me, I noticed a half eaten body that flew off the end of its mouth. The water went from a transparent color to a sharp crimson red as Jimmy's blood filled the water. As his intestines had floated out and his lower half had slowly sunk to the bottom of the lake, Jimmy’s screech from when he was yanked under the water, was now ringing in my ears. I knew I had to get out of the water before the monster could snatch me too. I swam away and felt a tingling sensation on my leg and a loud crunch of bone.
