'The Lady Or The Tiger'

In the story The Lady or the Tiger the princess had to choose to let her lover die, or let him go to another woman. According to the story, the king stated that he didn’t care if you had a family or loved someone, if you choose the door with the woman you are to be immediately married. The king was semibarbaric so he enjoyed it when someone committed a crime he would get to see the person choose their fate whether they were guilty or innocent. This is a twisted tale with a princess had to choose whether her lover was to die or marry another woman. The king believed that if you were innocent it was fate that would take you to the maiden. People thought this was a good system because they believed it was your destiny to choose whether you were guilty or innocent. …show more content…
The king immediately sent the man into the arena. When the man turned to bow to the king he looked directly at the princess, and she knew what he was asking. She moved her hand to right without hesitation, this is where I think she told him to go to the maiden because even though she would lose him I don’t think she would send him to die. The woman behind the door was one that the princess hated the most, because she dared to raise her eyes at the princess’s lover. The princess may hate the woman behind the door, but she couldn’t send the man she loved to die. I don’t think that the princess would want to see the man she loves screaming in
