The man slightly opened the door, then stopped. He looked over at the princess and saw her worried expression. “No! Don’t open the door!” The man closed the door. She knew this was the last time she’ll see her lover. Hyperventilating, she began to sob. With her heart full of guilt, she passed out in front of the crowd. As the audience observed worriedly, the king rushed to his daughter’s side and canceled the trial that day.
The accused with the next day. The princess fell ill and was not able to make it to the arena. With no one to look up to, he slowly walked to the door on the right and opened it. Out came a beast with intimidating eyes.
The tiger pounced towards the man and finished him. As the audience moaned at the sight of it all, sorrow fell across the kingdom. “Why did such a lovely man have to die?” Many of the townsfolk thought.

Of course, she knew what door the tiger would’ve come out from. She also knew in which door the lady would’ve come out. She purposely chose the right door, believing what she heard. “Could the keepers have switched the doors? Could they have lied? Were they just messing with me?” The princess had a thousand questions, but she couldn’t think. All she knew was, “I can’t live without him.” The pain that struck her heart was full of sadness, and the guilt she can’t help but hang onto. “I’m the reason for his death,” she thought. She loved the man more than anything. She couldn’t live anymore, especially if it’s all her fault. The princess couldn’t take it anymore. Even her semi-barbaric king couldn’t change her. The young princess grabbed a rope, and ran away, to the woods. There, she tied a noose around a tree and hanged
