The Lady Or The Tiger Essay
In the short story called the Lady Or The Tiger by Frank Stockton we read about Semi Barbaric King and his arena/court where he sends people who have convicted of Criminal offences. When they are sent to the arena they have a choice to pick two door behind one door there is a man eating tiger and behind the other there is a beautiful woman that the person who was convicted of a crime would be immediately married to that woman. The stories main point is that the Semi Barbaric king has a daughter who falls in love with a man that the father does not deem worthy of his daughters so when he find out about their love he sends the lover of his daughter to the arena. So then the daughter spends some Money to find what door has the tiger and lady but when she finds out who the women is she gets mad. do to the fact that she does utterly hate this woman. So when the arena day comes the man walks into the arena and has to bow to the king but only looks at the King's daughter hoping that she will guide him too the right door. So the daughter raised her right hand and made a quick motion toward the right so the man trusting his lover he go to the right door and unlatch sit and the story ends and leaves a question did the door have a lady or a …show more content…
Why he chose it was because he probably really trusts lover and the story states that “she loved him with so much ardor that had enough of barbarism in it to make it exceedingly warm and strong” but one thing her lover didn't realize was that she probably wanted him all to herself so to see him married to someone else she might get jealous also to add that she knew who the woman behind the door was and she do not like her because she often imagined the lady give a look of admiration to the lover of the daughter and he even returning the look and even seeing them talking to one another. So the daughter is really jealous
